An AI lab that specializes in gathering real-world data wants to partner with homeowners to record how skilled laborers do their jobs to train AI robots. HUMXN said it will subsidize plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air-duct cleaning, and carpet cleaning, allowing people who need these services to get them for free in exchange for letting someone in with “wearable capture technology” work inside their home.Latest Videos FromTom's HardwareStay On the Cutting Edge: Get the Tom's Hardware NewsletterGet Tom's Hardware's best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox. Reply hotaru251 so when the "ai" and machines took over the white coallr jobs they said "you can still go to trade school" They coming for the trade school jobs....what will be left? governments are going to need to seriously start planning for giving people $ for nothing or theres going to be revolutions due to people having no way to make $ to survive and push em into extreme situations. These clowns are all racing to get rich by replacing employees with AI, so who will have any money to buy the AI stocks? The rich (who've already got their AI stocks) will get richer, and the middle class will further evaporate. As you point out, what are we supposed to do for a living if there are no jobs? It's ridiculous... Reply D_Farmer This is such a stupid farce. Advertising and exposure for something that won't be even remotely plausible for many years. Get in on the ground floor! Next up after the weather, robots playing soccer!!! 1983 called, it wants its awkward humanoid elementary school science museum field trip curiousity back. When a plumber is laying under a sink and doing stuff by feel because his hands barely fit you are not going to get a robot to do that. Now they might make a robot with 3 hands that could fit in areas you can't get 2 humans in. Anyone who has done work like this knows it would be nice to have a extra hand sometimes. Reply alan.campbell99 Why_Me said:They can always learn to code.Funny, I distinctly remember Jensen saying something to the effect of people shouldn't bother to learn coding anymore because AI can do it. Reply thrus Perhaps spend a bit more on desks/tables that your laptops for on and less on branding for literal "BIGAI" But in reality builders do such a poor job here in the US that a robot trying to get to stuff is going to end up unable to continue due to missing connections or installs put in a direction it is nearly unservicable.
